Hunt Capital Partners Transfers Ownership of San Juan Square and The Alhambra to Opportunity Home San Antonio

SAN ANTONIO, Tex., September 17, 2024 – Hunt Capital Partners announced the transfer of its Limited Partner interests in two San Antonio affordable housing properties to San Antonio Housing Development Corporation, a non-profit affiliate of Opportunity Home San Antonio. The communities, known as San Juan Square and The Alhambra, have served as an important source of affordable housing for families and seniors since 2007.

Following the end of the initial 15-year compliance period, the transfer marks a strategic move that enables the housing authority increased flexibility to respond to the evolving housing needs of its residents and fulfill its mission to create a stronger, more sustainable San Antonio.

“Opportunity Home San Antonio is pleased to have partnered with Hunt Capital Partners on these projects,” said Opportunity Home San Antonio Chief Asset Management Officer Miranda Castro. “We are pleased to be able to continue the long-held tradition of providing affordable housing to the citizens of San Antonio.”

San Juan Square and The Alhambra together offer a total of 283 homes for families and seniors at income levels ranging from 30% and 60% of the Area Median Income (AMI).

Environmental Social and Corporate Governance (“ESG”) Investing

Hunt Capital Partners recognizes that its institutional investors are seeking to increase the social value of their investments to help further their ESG initiatives. An investment in affordable housing not only improves the living conditions of its residents, but it also helps to remove obstacles that stand in the way of creating a healthy, safe and stable home environment for low-income families and seniors. When families spend less on housing related expenses, they have more resources available for other essentials such as food and clothing, or even extracurricular activities and educational programs. One of the most significant benefits to providing quality affordable housing is an increase in an individual’s physical and mental health. Hunt Capital Partners’ affordable housing investments create a lasting effect on the people and communities they serve for generations to come.
