Jeff Weiss is a founding partner and President of Hunt Capital Partners.  As President, he oversees all activities of Hunt Capital Partners and its subsidiaries, related to the sponsorship of Federal and State Low-Income Housing, Historic, and Solar Tax Credit Investments funds. This portfolio includes nearly 750 project partnerships representing over 75,000 homes in 48 states and territories. Mr. Weiss has specialized in affordable housing for more than 30 years with a focus on raising equity and structuring project partnership agreements with multiple layers of debt.

Before founding Hunt Capital Partners, Mr. Weiss served as Senior Vice President at Alliant Capital from 2006 to 2010. In that role, he led the firm’s private label syndications and managed acquisition and project management activities. Prior to Alliant, he was the Senior Vice President of Investor Relations at Simpson Housing Solutions (formerly Kaufman and Broad Multi-Housing Group) from 1997 to 2006, where he oversaw tax credit syndication and asset management. Earlier in his career, Mr. Weiss worked as a Financial Development Officer for the City of Los Angeles Housing Department, where he coordinated new and existing bond issues and conducted feasibility analyses for proposed projects. He was responsible for securitizing the Department’s loan portfolio in what was at the time the largest Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Section 108 Loan Guaranty allowing the Department to borrow against future Community Development Block Grants (CDBG). 

Mr. Weiss currently serves on the board of the Affordable Housing Tax Credit Coalition, a broad-based industry coalition whose mission is to protect and expand the low-income housing tax credit. He is also on the University of Southern California (USC) Lusk Center for Real Estate Executive Committee and is a member of the Urban Land Institute.  From 1996 to 2003, Mr. Weiss was a guest lecturer at the USC Sol Price School of Public Policy for the Dollinger Master of Real Estate Development Program, where he taught graduate level courses on real estate finance, feasibility analysis, and affordable housing.

Mr. Weiss received a Bachelor of Science in Real Estate Finance from San Diego State University, a Master of Real Estate Development from the University of Southern California, and a Juris Doctor from Southwestern University School of Law. He is admitted to practice law in the State of California.
